Washington, DuBois, the philosophy debate

I am reading about the Grimke family , the sisters, Angelina and Sarah were best known by their suffrage work, but were equally to greater involved in abolition and equality; their half brothers (by their brother and his slave wife) Archibald and Frank were part of the "talented tenth". (they are some of the founders of the NAACP) In 1903 a philosophical war was raging between Booker T. Washington and WEB DuBois, it super cool to be reading this and then go to reference the Plaindealer, and see the predominant thoughts in Kansas and how they were interested, knowledgeable and involved in the national story.
