Asberry AME, St. Mark's AME, and Second Baptist cont.

The blog will only allow me so much space so this is getting spread out into several posts although I see it as one.

St. Mark's AME--the church was founded in 1864 and it is the church where Linda Brown's father was the Revered. It has recently received a grant from the National Park Service for restoration. It  is not on the National Register, but it should be.  The church webpage history says that this building was built in the 1880s and the cornerstone confirms this.  Notice the height of the foundation--smart thinking.
